Back to the Future: Marc Jacobs Fall-Winter 2020/2021
Marc Jacobs has a special talent for highlighting the most important cultural moments of the past and makes them resonate with today. It is this ability that makes designer collections interesting and compelling.
The Marc Jacobs fall-winter 2020/2021 collection was distinguished by the fact that it has virtually no prints, any additions or decorations. The designer sought inspiration for the line in the fashion of the 1960s and in the style of its bright representatives: from Jackie Kennedy to the heroine of Roman Polanski, Rosemary Woodhouse. Key point – Jacobs filtered out these links through the minimalism of the 1990s and the features of his own label.
The collection was similar to the one that the designer presented in the era preceding the Internet: trapezoidal coats with three buttons, cropped blouses and straight trousers, pastel jackets and mini dresses, tights, sequin dresses. The star of the show was Miley Cyrus, who defiled on the show in black sconces, trousers and high leather gloves.
