At the weekend, designer Svetlana Bevza announced that her brand is switching to the production of protective suits for medical workers. A few days later, other brands joined her initiative, including Bobkova, Frolov, Lake, Tago. In the near future, Bevza expects that other Ukrainian brands will be added, which are now freeing and reconfiguring their production capacities for new tasks. According to the designer, over the past four days they have already formed a small headquarters in which stylist Nadia Shapoval is responsible for finding the necessary scarce materials, stylist Sonia Soltes is responsible for logistics for tailors / workshops and finding contractors, and Ksenia Efremova records requests from hospitals, collects funds , makes purchases and keeps records.

The first delivery was made on the morning of March 26 – the first 150 suits were sent to the 8th Kiev hospital. The team's priority is the infectious and emergency departments. Now applications come from all over the country and costumes need as much as possible.

Kristina Bobkova, who has now joined the project, says: “Supporting Svetlana Bevza’s initiative, we began to sew protective overalls for doctors. Today, the first 150 pieces are in operation. There is an acute shortage of materials – spunbond and rubber bands. Literally today we found and immediately ordered 10 thousand meters of gum. It's a big win now. "

Ivan Frolov also described the situation on his Instagram: “LETS SUPPORT OUR DOCTORS. Despite the fact that quarantine has been officially renewed today, the #FROLOV team has almost completely quarantined. It is undeniable in masks, with antiseptics and at safe distances (except this photo) .We joined the initiative @bevza_svitlana @bevza and probably more already, a real volunteer movement designed to help our physicians with protective suits. Today we sewed 50 protective suits, manually cut more than a hundred, developed an additional male universal size. Of course, the needs of doctors far exceed our capabilities, so we enlisted the support of our regular partners, who usually help us in replicating collections for stores around the world. As a result, we already have an agreement on the digitization of patterns and industrial cutting of suits in an automated cutting complex , which will significantly speed up the processes.Today, 500 m of spanbond will be transferred to production. "We hope to get a large number of cuts in a few days, and then we will need even more hands for sewing, even more accessories and even more spunbond."
