The show, which was held at a pedestrian crossing in front of the Art Arsenal, was attended not only by professional models, but also by Ukrainians who survived the accident and, from their own experience, were convinced of the need to be visible on the roads.

Among them are professional karateka, social activist and TV presenter Ulyana Pchelkina, director Vlad Kochatkov, cultural manager Marianna Fakas and marketer Dmitry Dzhedzhula.

During the performance, the audience saw the bright and most extraordinary works of the Safe Fashion finalists. The interest in reflective elements in world fashion is growing, so I am confident that in the future we will see more collections using reflective fabrics in the collections of Ukrainian designers, ”says Irina Danilevskaya, head of the organizing committee of Ukrainian Fashion Week.

Model performers showed the 10 best works of the finalists of the Safe Fashion contest. Fashion director Victoria Zubenko became the director of the performance.

We realized the dreams of the great fashion of those who are just starting their career. But Safe Fashion has not only opened new names in design. He showed that security can be stylish. We will popularize safe fashion, said Irina Chechetkina, co-organizer of the contest.

I supported today's action because I am convinced that projects that draw public attention to road safety are powerful and important. For 7 months of 2019 in Ukraine there were more than 4200 accidents with pedestrians. Of these, more than 3960 people were injured. And, unfortunately, 577 people died. Our goal is zero mortality on the roads. It can only be achieved by increasing culture and responsibility. You should start with yourself, and the first step – clothes with reflective elements, save lives, ”said Alexey Biloshitsky, first deputy head of the Patrol Police Department of Ukraine.

The jury of the Safe Fashion contest included:
● Chairman of the organizing committee of Ukrainian Fashion Week Irina Danilevskaya;
● Co-founder of Rozetka, Irina Chechetkina;
● Ukrainian designers Ksenia Schneider and Katya Silchenko;
● TV presenter Valentina Khamaiko.

Reflective materials are often associated with sportswear. But I wanted to move away from this concept and work in a classic style, to create clothes for the office or meetings outside it. In my opinion, “safe” elements should harmoniously fit into the image and not attract attention during the day. For example, I took care of a special ribbon under the coat collar. In the afternoon she is invisible. But in the evening, crossing the road, you can raise the collar and with one movement make yourself visible. Gloves and shoes made of reflective material complement the image. According to the Safe Fashion Prize, I plan to upgrade some of the equipment for sewing things, and invest the rest in the next collection, which is full of reflective elements, ”said Anna Gaevaya, designer-winner of the Safe Fashion contest.
